Prasonisi Windsurf Centre - Rhodes - Prasonisi, Greece & Mediterranean

The Sportif Prasonisi windsurfing centre in the Greek Islands of Rhodes is located in the south of the island offers the lastest top quality equipment from JP and Neil Pryde equipment. With a choice of hotel accommodation on the spot, there is also a range of instruction programmes for all levels of windsurfer and wing foiler. Pro coaching is available with Jem Hall Sportif Windsurf clinics and Simon Winkley Clinics.

Location
The Procentre is located directly on the leeward side of the spot, just a few meters away from the water. Here the winds blow cross offshore and usually the water is very flat, getting slightly choppy further on the outside. This is an ideal playground for every aspect of windsurfing: from practising all basics, relaxed freeriding, powerful carving gybes to all class and new school freestyle moves. Additionally, when quieter at the beginning and end of the season, it can be an outstanding speed sailing venue. Prasonisi is ideally suited to intermediate + level sailors during the main summer months of June to September. However, in April/May and October the wind can be slightly less strong. Along the sand bar there is a 20m wide strip which is shallow enough to stand in for training. Over the sand bar there is access to waves for wave sailors.


Facilities
Fresh water showers and toilets are available at the centre. It also features a sun tent with sun beds free of charge, a relaxing terrace, beachwear shop and a snack bar. For kids there is also a Young Gun Pool for childrean up to 12 years old to learn to windsurf in. Full rental and instruction service with a wide choice of the latest JP boards & Neil Pryde sails. There is no kitesurfing rental at the centre. At all times a powerful safety motorboat is on stand by should you need assistance with staff on duty daily to monitor the sailing sports and provide immediate assistance if needed. Limited storage space is available for those with their own equipment at an additional charge. (This is required to be booked in advance to guarantee availability.)

Kitesurfing is available (including tuition), although at the centre there is no kitesurfing rental. There are also Sportif Jem Hall's Pro Coaching Weeks. 


Kit Range
Rental equipment is available on a nominated fixed board where you can change to a different board at any time even just for a few hours with no additional costs.

Latest equipment from JP & Neil Pryde
160 New JP Boards and 240 NeilPryde Rigs -  all boards will be in Pro Edition (except beginner boards).

All Neil Pryde rigs are equpped with X65 masts by NeilPryde (except beginner sails).
Upt to 6.5m sail sizes are with RDM master, all booms are equipped with harness lines (free of charge).

Kids & Junior Equipment: JP Boards and Neil Pyrde Sails. Junior rates charged for 11 years and under.

 

Rental

Pre-booked Fixed board system Book your preferred windsurf board before you arriva but also have the ability to swop to other available boards on the day so you can try out kit depending on conditions and availability.

Partner Pool is designed for partners who don't want to or can't sail at the same time, e.g. for child care arrangements. You can book your favourite board but also be able to change to other available boards during the rental period.

Young Guns pool is ideal for young windsurfers up to 11 eyars, which includes equipment that has been especially designed and developed for young surfers.The easy- to-use Rent and Change System also applies to the Young Gun Pool.

A full range of instruction programmes are available from experienced VDWS professional instructors in 1, 5 or 10 hours blocks, private or in groups plus beginner programmes.

Trial course includes short introduction, start and surfing a few meters. Equipment included.

Beginners course includes starting, steering, changing direction, learning the essential rules. Equipment included.

5 & 10 Step Card has an individual course program which covers power jibing, water starting, planing, harness surfing and foot strap surfing. Equipment excluded.

Private lessons have an individual course program which covers techniques such as plus wave riding, freestyle moves, jumps etc. Equipment excluded.
