At Costa Teguise a protected bay makes the place secure and ideal for beginners and trainings for advanced surfers. Outside the bay there is flat water and a reef delivering rolling swells from 0.5-3m. With plenty of space to exit safely this is an ideal for improving jumping and wave riding, where wavefreaks and freeriders will have a lot of fun. The conditions are varied which is why the PWA hold a World Cup freestyle event here for many years now. The steady trade winds blow side/side off shore from the left and are most consistent during the summer (April-September), blowing regularly from 4-6 Bft (11-27 knots). During the winter the wind is more changeable and can vary in speed depending on the weather patterns. The swell comes in at this time and transforms the various spots around the island, ideal for surfing and wave riding.
