Los Barriles in Baja California offers windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing and mountain biking beach holidays from November to February. Los Barriles sits directly south of the US state of California. The Mexican peninsular of Baja California separates the Pacific to the west and turquoise Sea of Cortez to the east. On the southern tip, the small town of Los Barriles is one of the more accessible sailing areas on the East Cape. Still relatively undiscovered, the region is fast becoming known as a world class winter wave destination for the strong wind and challenging conditions. Sailing Spot and Conditions
You can windsurf and kitesurf in Baja Mexico from mid-November through to early March. Baja's famous "El Norte" winds sweep the Sea of Cortez providing ideal sailing conditions for good intermediates to advanced sailors. The wind blows a steady 18-30 knots all winter long and wave-sailing is possible in a variety of spots. Baja has typical desert weather, warm days and cool nights and is an excellent destination for intermediate level and above windsurfers & kitesurfers. Typical sail sizes range from 4.5 to 6.5. Above 15 knots, a widely spaced, rolling swell provides great ramps for jumping. Novice sailors may find the chance to learn in the morning, with generally flatter conditions, a lighter breeze and smaller swell. When the wind picks up around midday intermediate through advanced sailors will find strong wind and rolling swells with waves ranging from 1-3m. Every January, the Vela-Neil Pryde Windsurf Championships take place at Los Barriles.
 

Culture and Activities
Baja offers a wide range of activities as well as windsurfing and kitesurfing. The area offers first rate mountain bike trails into the surrounding mountains or along the scenic coastal tracks. Other activities include kayaking, SUP, diving, snorkelling and  tennis. Snorkelling equipment is available through the centre and there are tennis courts nearby. The centre can offer information and recommend local excursions to nearby villages for sightseeing and shopping. Explore the arroyos, mountains and beaches on a rugged off-road vehicle. You'll find spectacular rock formations and water falls just outside of Los Barriles.The resort itself offers a relaxed beach holiday with the centre onsite and social scene mainly centred around the hotel bar and events such as BBQs organised by the centre.
