Safaga - Egypt, Red Sea

Sailing Spot and Condition
Safaga is perfectly suitable for all skill levels. Based on the windward side of the bay, offering an easy blast to Toubia Island first thing in the morning, when the wind is blowing cross offshore. Tuition takes place in a shallow water area with ideal conditions for practising water starts. The sheltered beginner's lagoon offers very flat water and gentle wind. The beach launch area offers access to slalom, freeride and freestyle conditions. The side-offshore wind in the mornings favour an excursion to Toubia Island, a sandy island surround by turquoise water only 3.5km away. Afternoons offer a steady sideshore wind and the stronger it blows the longer it stays. The kitesurfing spot is about 300 meters downwind with it's own dedicated, new centre. Windsurfing and kitesurfing areas are separate.
 

Culture and Activities
Located about 30 miles south of Hurghada, it offers not only numerous diving bases but is arguably one of the best windsurfing and kitesurfing spots. Spacious sandy beaches extend around the deep sea port of Safaga, with choice of 3*, 4* or 5* beach resort hotels in the best location.
