Kitesurf Centre - Sotavento Lagoon - Fuerteventura - Sotavento, Canary Islands

The Sportif kitesurfing centre in Sotavento in Fuertaventura has been offering high class windsurfing holidays for the last 26 years and kitesurfing holidays for 9 years. They are hosts to world cup events in both windsurfing and kitesurfing each year and helped break the world speed record with Sportif on the 21st July 1986.

Location
Home to a world cup event every year this kite school is known the world over for its superb condition. Large dedicated kite zone for instruction, launch and landing. Shallow, tidal lagoon perfect for traininig. The school is located down by centre 1 with the beginner courses taking place in the huge lagoon further south down the beach.


Facilities
Facilities include showers, WC's, sheltered sunbeds, and a beach bar which services drinks and snacks. WiFi is also available along with professional advise.


Services
Kitesurf lessons from beginner up to expert level are available and can be booked in either groups or private lessons. For qualified kiters, minimum skill level of riding upwind, the full range of Cabrinha kites and boards can be rented. Photo service is also available at the centre. Life guards are on the beach to watch the action on the water and provide a rescue service using jet skis. SUP boards are available and for those who are renting equipment they are included free in the rental package.
Storage space available for those with their own equipment at an additional charge. (This is required to be booked in advance to guarantee availability.)
SUP boards are available at the centre and windsurfing can also be booked here.

PLEASE NOTE: Until further notice there will be NO Shuttle Service for pick ups in Costa Calma / Jandía / Esquinzo until further notice and some facilities may be restricted or unavailable  – due to Covid-19 health and safety protocols.

Equipment from North Kites:  Approx 180 boards & 400 kites.

Rental

Prices include reserved sunbed, SUP boards and a minimum skill level of riding up wind. Excludes Neoprene, harness, life vest, helmet and insurance. 

Low Season  (L): January - June/ September - December.
High Season (H): July - August
 

Tuition

Kitesurfing tuition is available for all levels and follow the internationally recognised IKO teaching method.

3hrs course, A-Course and F1 course has a maximum of 3 students per instructor.
Private lessons are 1 student per instructor.
Kite Pool Advance has a maximum of 4 partitipants per 3hrs.

Low Season  (L): January - June/ September - December. 
High Season (H): July - August.

Combo rental: Windsurfing & Kitesurfing equipment. If you wish to rent both windsurfing and kitesurfing equipment you can book a combo rental. The minimum skill level for kitesurfing equipment rental is being able to ride upwind.
