Windsurf Centre - Costa Calma Beach - Fuerteventura - Sotavento, Canary Islands
The Windsurf centre at Costa Calma Beach in Sotavento, Fuerteventura offers rental, instruction services with the latest Fanatic boards and North Sails. Besides the advantage of a short walking distance between your accommodation and the centre, you will find a variety of windsurfing conditions, suitable for beginners in the morning and for intermediates and free ride sailors during the day.

Location
Situated on Costa Calma Beach, the windsurf centre is located just a short 10-15 minute walk from our recommended hotels. The centre offers a great environment to learn to windsurf and improve your windsurfing ability, with the combination of the latest range of windsurfing equipment from Fanatic and North, as well as being placed in the centre of the long sandy beach of Costa Calma, it is offers a variety of conditions whilst staying at a range of 3*, 4* or 5* centrally located hotels.
Conditions
The main wind direction is cross-offshore from the left. Further out, the wind is more constant and ideal for freeriders and bump & jump. During summer the wind can reach up to 30 knots further offshore but at the beach, most of the time, the conditions are suitable for beginners and intermediate windsurfers thanks to wind protection from the hotels. At low tide you can easily stand for the first 30 meters as the sandy beach drops down smoothly. Directly in front of the centre there is a sandy 40m entrance reserved for windsurfers.
Facilities
The centre is stocked with the latest range of windsurfing rental equipment from Fanatic and North Sails, new ION CM Version School wetsuits, life vests and Vario harness lines. Just behind the centre this is a chiringuito offering traditional Spanish food and drinks.
Services
Full rental and instruction service with a wide choice of the latest Fanatic boards and North sails. Video analysis is available for advanced lessons and there is a rescue boat on standby if needed.
Kit Range
Latest equipment from Fanatic and Duotone: approx. 25 boards and 30 rigs. (1.0 m² - 7.3 S-Type - Camber sails).

Lessons are scheduled for 10am, 12.30pm and 3pm depending on the local conditions.
Beginners and children's lessons are normally in the morning before the wind gets up.
Group lessons are maximum 6 persons. If there is only 1 person in a group the time will be reduced but you will receive one to one instruction for the same rate! The content on the lesson can be requested in advance - such as beach start, stance, planing, harness & footstraps, gybing & freestyle manoeuvers.
