Dakhla Peninsula
The Dakhla peninsular is a 40 km long and 13 km wide lagoon, which stretches out into the Atlantic Ocean. You can sailing from the windsurfing and kitesurfing centre located at the north-eastern coast of the Dakhla lagoon. With side-shore winds from the north, the water is completely flat and provides excellent conditions for practicing and learning, as well as freestyle and racing. The lagoon is tidal and at optimum high tide conditions dthere is a 300 meter long shallow water area right in front of the center. If you drive 5 minutes to the other side of the Dakhla peninsula of Dakhla there are amazing wave spots, perfect for wave riding and surfing.

Wind and Weather
The wind blows constantly throughout the whole year. More than 320 days with more than 12 knots make Dakhla a pure pleasure. The main wind direction is north-easterly, so the wind blows side-shore from the right. Thanks to this the water inside the lagoon is flat close to the beach and gets a little bit choppier the farther you are away from the shore. At the wave spots on the other side of the peninsula the wind blows slightly side-onshore, and is normally a few knots weaker than inside the lagoon. From upwind, turning and sailing without a daggerboard

Windsurf Spot
You can windsurf from directly in front of the centre, In the lagoon at high tide about a 200 meters shallow area, at low tide it is about 10 meters.  Small chop, wind blows constantly side shore from the right. When the tide is about 300 meters at high tide, it is about 500 meters to the other bank.
