Dakhla Windsurf Centre (JP) - Dakhla - Western Sahara, Africa
The Dakhla Windsurfing centre, located at the end of the lagoon and next to the Speed Spot, offers the perfect conditions and great equipment for windsurfing, regardless of your level.
Location
Dakhla's windsurf centre is located just at the end of Dakhla’s Lagoon, which stretches for nearly 40 km and is situated next to the Speed Spot. The Speed Spot, which you can reach within a 5 minute drive, offers perfectly flat water approximately 22 days a month (depends on the tide), making this spot and Dakhla’s lagoon perfect for beginners and intermediates. For those at a more advanced level, waves can be found outside the lagoon. This privileged location takes advantage of 330 days of wind which blows north-east, at a speed of 15-25 knots during the winter and an average of 30 knots during the summer months. Away from the crowds and with scenic desert views, Dakhla makes the perfect spot to practice windsurfing.
Facilities
Located directly at the beach, the centre is surrounded by a range of accommodations as well as bars and restaurants. The centre also provides a transfer service (tractor) which can take you to the popular Speed Spot (at an extra cost).
Services
The centre rents a range of equipment, ranging from the latest NP sails rigged with 100% carbon masts and JP boards, to wetsuits, life jackets, helmets and harnesses. There is a wide variety of boards and sails adequate for the various experience levels, and the centre also offers equipment for children. Furthermore, there is a storage facility, a rescue service and the centre offers semi-private lessons (2 students) and private lessons for every experience level.

Sportif recommend you take insurance to cover third party liability, as well as medical and general travel insurance, which is required as part of our terms and conditions of booking. However, your insurance may not provide cover for damage to equipment that is rented, so worth checking in advance of travel..
