St Kitts and Nevis, Caribbean

Nevis, neighbour to sister island St Kitts, is 36 square miles of unspoilt beauty and lies near the top of the Lesser Antilles archipelago, about 200 miles south of Puerto Rico close to Antigua. Also known as "The Queen of the Caribees" Nevis Peak dominates the Island towering to 3,232 feet. This is an exotic, beautiful island with a feeling similar to the South Pacific. Nevis has a a fascinating history from early Arawaks and Caribs to later colonial occupation, with a choice of luxury and local colonial style hotels, you are perfectly located to enjoy all this island has to offer.

Sailing Spot and Conditions
Windsurfing is based in two locations. One is at Oualie Beach in a sheltered bay that is ideal for beginners. The other location is at Nisbet Plantation Beach with a shallow launch that offers excellent opportunities for wave sailing outside the reef for intermediate to advanced windsurfers. The windsurfing equipment is based on pre-booked, bespoke service. Outside the bay offers first class bump and jump sailing in the ‘Narrows' between Nevis and sister island of St Kitts. The North Easterly Trade winds funnel between the islands from December through to April averaging 15-25 knots on high wind days. There is no school for kitesurfing on Nevis, though a few people do kite in the Narrows.

Culture and Activities
St Kitts and Nevis offers windsurfing holidays located on idyllic Caribbean beaches - ideal to visit a relaxed island with historical colonial past, with many activities perfect for a  romantic holiday, special occasion, wedding or honeymoon. Besides windsurfing, the centre also offers mountain biking and cycling with many coasting and hill routes. This is also excellent for walking and hiking the hills surrounding Nevis peak. There are many beautiful, quiet beaches and coves to explore around the island - perfect for a picnic or enjoy a cool drink at a beach bar. Other activities include dingy sailing, offshore fishing, kayaking, snorkelling, scuba diving, horseback riding, golf plus heritage trail and guided eco and walking tours. Each year Nevis hosts a Marathon and Running Festival in September Triathalon competitors from around the world in November. Completely off the beaten track, the small population ensures that Nevis retains the unspoilt, friendly feel that many have come to love.
