Kos - Psalidi Windsurf Centre - Kos - Psalidi, Greece & Mediterranean

The Sportif windsurfing & kitesurfing centre in Psalidi, Kos is situated on the beach in front of the Natura Park Village Hotel and offers Fanatic and Duotone equipment. The spot is one of the best on Kos and has a very safe beach.

Location
The centre is situated on the beach in front of the Natura Park Village Hotel on the north east coast of Kos Island. This area is well known for windsurfing and the Meltemi, the strong north/northwest wind which is blowing side/side off shore from the left, is present almost every day during the summer season.

Conditions
The close proximity to the coast of Turkey creates a funnel effect on the Meltemi as it is squeezed between the two coastlines giving a stronger localised wind effect. It is 6km to the city from the center. There is also an area which gets slightly less wind which is perfect for beginners.

Usually the wind is lighter in the morning when the majority of beginner courses take place, making the spot also great for beginners and kids. The Sailing area is large and safe and with the wind gradually intensifing through the day it gives way to sensational slalom blasting with swell/chops up to 1m on the outside. The centre in Kos is one of the few places in the world where all levels can practice their skills at the same time. The kite spot is 1km away from the windsurfing centre and for safety reasons kiters and windsurfers are separate.


Facilities
The centre has a very friendly, family feel to it and is well equipped and organised center and operates a fixed board system. At the centre there is a shop selling items such as helmets, gloves and shoes along with other windsurfing items. Other facilities available include a large chill out area on the beach with comforable chairs and bean bags giving a great shaded seating area, showers and private equipment storage area.

New for this summer, the centre will have a children's play ground at the beach, with trampoline, more umbrellas and sun beds at the beach in front of the centre, a second shower, changing room and beach volley. The bar will be able to offer salads and light meals such as pizzas, gyros, burgers etc. There will also be take aways available to have on the beach.

Services
Full rental and instruction service with a wide choice of the latest windsurfing boards from Fanatic & sails from North. There is also a dedicated Baywatch and Rescue service free of charge using a power boat with radio communication system. The centre also provides a free shutle bus from the hotels to the centres twice a day. 
Space available for those with their own equipment at an additional charge. (This is required to be booked in advance to guarantee availability.)
At the centre there is windsurfing and kitesurfing and SUP is available.
