Hotel Shams is one of Sportif’s best value Red Sea hotels with regularly returning guests for windsurfing, kitesurfing and SUP holidays to Safaga. Located directly on the beach, the windsurf centre is right next door, the kitesurf centre a few minutes’ walk, with superb sailing conditions in front of the hotel.


Location
Approximately 45 minute drive south of Hurghada airport, 7km north of Safaga on a long sandy beach. There is approximately a 2 minute walk to the windsurfing centre and the windsurfing sailing area, with separate kitesurfing and swimming zones, located within picturesque gardens.


Accommodation
The hotel has 346 comfortably furnished rooms and bungalows which are equipped with air-conditioning, a satellite TV, international telephone, mini fridge and an ensuite bathroom. The main building has 210 rooms, some with a balcony or terrace with either sea, mountain or garden views. The 136 Garden Bungalows are set in the garden area away from the main building, restaurant and pool, they are close to the beach with their own small garden and terrace. 2 family and interconnecting rooms are available, please request at time of booking to ensure availability. Some rooms are wheelchair accessible. 


Facilities
The hotel offers a Garden Restaurant, a coffee shop, oriental cafe, pool bar, hotel bar and Palm Beach Snack bar (reservations required). All inclusive, breakfast, lunch and dinner are offered as an open buffet. Soft drinks, tea and alcoholic drinks are available all day and coffee and snacks are available in the afternoon. A number of sports facilities and leisure activities are offered to everyone. There is a main swimming pool, a fitness room, sauna, on site scuba diving centre, volleyball, table tennis, mini golf and a computer games corner. For children there is a swimming pool, playroom (without supervision), as well as a playground at the hotel and diving centre. Bathing towels, sun beds and parasols are available on the beach and around the pool.

The Shams Spa Centre is independently managed and located at sister hotel, the Sham Imperial which is next door. They offer an Aquatronic indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam bath, Egyptian Hammam, sauna, jacuzzi beauty salon or a specialist massage treatment such as a Chocolate Oil, Oasis Stone, Pharaoh Massage or full body Sea Weed scrub. All services are payable locally for an additional charge. In peak holiday seasons there is a disco and live entertainment in the evening. There is an internet computer available and reception offers a complimentary safe deposit facility. WiFi is available with an extra charge payable locally.

Our Opinion
This is one of our best value hotels on the Red Sea with flat water sailing and everything on your doorstep and good choice of activities off the water. We recommend booking the Garden bungalows to be closest to the windsurf centre
