Hidden behind an old oak carriage entrance door, Hotel 20 Degres Sud is a small, charming, boutique hotel in the north of Mauritius. Decorated throughout with antiques, the rooms are styled with an old elegance and refinement. The perfect hotel if you are looking for a quite retreat but still be close enough to enjoy the watersports and town life that the area has to offer.

Location
Located on the North of the island on the western edge of the Grande Baie, Hotel 20° Sud is built within the grounds of an old coconut plantation, about a 30 minute walk around the bay to the main harbour, and 40 minutes to the public beach on the opposite side of the bay, with a private beach and beautiful views across the Grande Baie. Tucked away in the on the mouth of the bay it creates a feel of being a world apart.

Accommodation
Hotel 20°Sud is a small independent boutique hotel with 30 rooms and 6 suites with rooms styled by Flamant Home Interiors®. All rooms are air-conditioned and have a beautiful terrace which looks onto the attractive coconut grove bordering the sea. Facilities include a mini fridge, tea and coffee-making facilities. The Beach Front rooms, Suites and Austral Suites are equipped with a Nespresso machine. Those rooms provide also Ipod/Iphone docks. The rooms vary in size: The Cosy and Charm rooms, although smaller in size, offer the 20°Sud lifestyle with a lower rate. The Beach Front rooms really do live up to their name, with terraces opening up with views directly onto the water. The Suites are just 20m from the waters edge and Austral Suites with private terraces that are literally over the water.

Facilities
There are 3 dining areas to choose from with A La Carte menus, selected wine list featuring classic French and South African labels and special six course lobster or sushi menues prepared from the catch of the day on request. A second restaurant is located on a small, flat island. Dine overlooking the sea, at the edge of the pool or on the seashore. A few tables are positioned in the ruins of an old building on a small island just off the coast from the Hotel. A private boat will collect you and drop you off at the island, where you can enjoy fresh fish and grilled burgers under the Mauritian stars. Another unique dining experience is dning in a renovated 20th century ship, the Lady Lisbeth, which has been converted into a small on-water restaurant. Breakfast is available at any time and every day complimentary afternoon tea or coffe is served accompanied by a delicious freshly baked cake.

Kitesurfing/Windsurfing/SUP
The kitesurf and windsurf centre is located approximately a 15 minute drive across to the bay at Anse le Raie, with kitesurfing service, rental, rescue and tuition for all levels in both kitesurfing and windsurfing and direct access to the vast lagoon. We can either arrange a car hire for you before arrange which you can then use to explore the island or the hotel will arrange transfers locally on request. More >
