The windsurf and kitesurf centre at Kalpitiya is located just by the Kalpitiya lagoon, one of the best spots for kitesurf and windsurf in Sri Lanka  and offers a range of equipment and courses to suit all levels.

 

Location
The Surf-School Sri-Lanka windsurf and kitesurf centre is located just by the Kalpitiya lagoon and it is run by Upul de Silva, who has won the title of Sri-Lanka’s windsurf champion four times. The flat-water lagoon offers the perfect conditions for beginners with reliable winds all year round, especially from May up to October.  The winds usually blow from the South West, creating 18 to 28 knot winds in the lagoon.  Kalpitiya also offers great conditions for those at a more advanced level, at Donkey Point, making it the perfect location to practice kitesurf and windsurf, no matter the level you are at. 

 
 
Facilities
The centre is located right next to the Wind Resort and within a 4 minute walk from the Palm Resort. Next to the centre, you can enjoy some cocktails and drinks with a view over the lagoon, at the Surfbar. 
 

Services
 The centre offers a range of equipment for rent and sale, from top brands such as Tabou, Gaastra and Duotone kiteboarding. We recommend taking protective boots due to some sharp shells in certain locations.Furthermore, the centre also offers multiple courses (equipment and accessories included in the courses) covering all levels, which are  provided by multi-lingual, licensed instructors.
