Sardinia RRD Kitesurf Centre - Sardinia - Porto Pollo, Greece & Mediterranean

The kitesurf centre at Porto Pollo, on the north west coast of Sardinia, offers excellent wind, flat water and some wave conditions for kitesurfers of all levels from spring, through the summer months. You can pre-book a range of rental and instruction packages with a wide range of equipment and other activities. The area is good for warm water conditions, clear water and reliable winds just a short flight from the UK. It also offers other sports nearby, such as windsurfing, kayaking, SUP and well suited to families, with child supervision and kids camps, as well as solo kiters and groups.


Location
The kitesurf zone is located on the sandy beach of Porto Pollo on the north east coast of Sardinia, approximately 47km around 50 minutes drive from the nearest airport at Olbia. The kite zone is to the west (left side) of the peninsular, around 10 minutes from the main centre. The area is open for both kitesurfing and windsurfing, with separate zones and confined swimming areas, where is it forbidden to kite or windsurf. There is a choice of budget and luxury accommodation nearby with self catering apartments within walking distance. 


Services
The mobile kite centre is located on the beach by the kite zone, to the west (on the left side looking from the land) and on the other side of the Porto Pollo peninsular, from the windsurf zone/bay. The mobile kite tent is set up daily and offers rental of new RRD boards and kites, renewed every 6 months, which are moved every day from the main base, which is around 10 minutes walk,  to the kite zone. Kite services include storage, daily transport of equipment to the kite beach in the kite bus, assistance with launching and landing kites, rescue/shuttle boat, repair shop and compressor for inflating kites. At the tent, there are also beach chairs and cool boxes. Rental prices include wetsuit, harness, life vest, helmet, board and/or kite.

SUP boards and sea kayaks for free with rental or instruction package, SUP tours and excursions. Hobie Cat, Laser dingies and Bic sail boards are available to rent with discounted rates in combination with kitesurf packages from the windsurf centre. Yoga is available booked locally for all levels 3 times a week between 8:15am and 9:30am with a local charge. There is a beach shop with a selected of beachwear, used and new equipment and accessories.
 

Facilities
The Tiki Beach bar on the windsurfing beach, serves food and drinks during the day and some evening and is located next to the centre Open to 6pm in low season and 8pm in high season with happy hour from 5pm. We recommend you reserve to get a table. Child supervision available from May to September between 11am-1pm and 3.30pm to 5.30pm except for Saturday, for voucher clients of the centre. Plus weekly BBQ and beach party with live music. During the low season, sunbeds are available free for all customers (chargeable locally). An official dimensioned, equipped beach volleyball court is available, FatBoy cushions to chill out on and free WiFi.


Rental
60 brand new RRD boards and kites with combi rental discounts.  Rental includes wetsuit, harness, live vest, helmet, board and/or kite. SUP Board and kayak free with one week's rental for person renting equipment. 

Three types of sail boat are available to rent: Hobie Cat 15, Laser Standard 4.7m and open Bic 3.3m for kids with discounted rates in combination with windsurf or kitesurf packages.
 

Please note:  Rental is only available to those who are able to control their kite equipment upwind (minimum VDWS level 5/IKO level 3K). 

The Beach rescue service* includes the pre-requisite: Controlled upwind (MB Course KF4 - Level 5 / VDWS Level 5 / IKO Level 3K) when using own equipment. That the centre accept no liability for loss or damage to a persons own equipment.

Tuition
Kitesurfing tuition is available for all levels and is taught according to wind and weather conditions. The courses available include from beginners to advance. Private lessons (1 instructor to 1 student), Semi Private lessons (1 instructor to 2 students) and private group lessons (1 instructor and up to 3 students) are available.
 

Please note: All lessons are priced per person and include equipment. Kite foil equipment is not included in local insurance.
