The Icaraizinho windsurfing centre in Brazil is a spacious centre found right on the beach of the beautiful, unspoilt village of Icaraizinho in north west Brasil.


Open August - January.


Location
This spacious centre is set overlooking Icaraizinho beach with conditions to suit beginners, slalom, freeride and wave enthusiasts. Great consistency but not as strong as the windsurfing Mecca of Jeri so is good for all levels including beginners.


Facilities
The centre has it's own restaurant offering a choice of meals including local, freshly caught fish and shrimps, plus home made pasta and pizzas. Also there is a bar, showers, sun loungers and swimming pool. Internet access.


Services
Full rental and instruction service with a wide choice of the latest JP & Starboard boards and NeilPryde sails. The centre now stocks 100% Pro Range equipment. Pre-booking system is simple and efficient. The centre uses a board pool so rather than booking a fixed board in advance, you reserve by category, which allows you to try a variety of boards during your vacation. Categories are small (up to 90), medium (91-110) and large (111 +). The number of reservations is limited, in order to guarantee that there is always enough equipment for pre-booked clients.
Limited space available for those with their own equipment at an additional charge. (This is required to be booked in advance to guarantee availability.)
Other activities include SUP, Surfing, Kayaking and Mangrove Tour, which is a 3hr morning tour which takes you paddling through Mangroves and along the sand dunes. The centre offers a Mangrove Tour on SUP and Kayaks at a cost of £55 per person.

Please Note: You may be required to pay a damage waiver fee, locally at the centre, or leave a credit card deposit against potential damage, before rental equipment can be taken.  Sportif recommend you take insurance to cover third party liability, as well as medical and general travel insurance, which is required as part of our terms and conditions of booking. However, your insurance may not provide cover for damage to equipment that is rented, so worth checking in advance of travel.

Harness, gloves and any other accessories are not available for rental

Beginner: Basic introduction to windsurfing: safety, understanding the wind, sailing (stance, sail control, steering), tack.
Intermediate: beach start, water start, harness, pivot jibe, fast tack.
Advanced: footstraps, planing jibe, siker tack, helicopter tack, jumping.
Freestyle: Duck jibe, donkey jibe, backwind jibe, carving jibe 360, duking 360, duck tack, haas tack, forward loop, vulcan,  gecko-flaca.
