Kitesurf Centre North Soma Bay - Soma Bay, Red Sea
The kitesurfing centre in Soma Bay on the Red Sea is a dedicated kitesurf and testing centre with latest rental and teaching equipment from Naish, Core, RoDwY and Carved. Idyllic shallow & flatwater conditions cater to all levels. This purpose built centre has its own restaurant, bar, shop, and provides a full service for rental, instruction, repair, rescue & secure storagemean you won’t need to be anywhere else but on the water.

Location
The centre is located on a sandy beach on the north of Soma bay, approximately 40 minutes transfers from the airport. With direct launch access to a 500m x 100m shallow water standing area, the bay offers flat water conditions with consistent side shore winds, the best wind being June to November averaging 6-7Bft and at 60-75% with days at 4Bft or more from November round to May with . This is great location to learn, practice and enjoy kitesurfing, with a large amount of space and calm waters. You can get to the centre on the free shuttle service from the hotels in the Soma Bay Area - the Luxury 5* Kempinski Hotel around 1km away and the furthest 3* Breakers Hotel about 1.3km, with the 4* Sheraton Hotel roughly in between.
Facilities
The centre offers a shop, restaurant, help with repairs and an extensive range of rental equipment. The centre is spacious with a beach bar for post kite drinks, music and relaxation, a Sky Bar on the roof which offers the perfect viewing spot of the action with restaurant and bar open all day. Sun loungers and a terrace with shades are provided next to the beach. Beach volleyball, beach soccer, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, waterski, fun rides/ringo and stand up paddleboarding available.
Services
Kitesurf lessons from beginner up to expert level are available and can be booked in either groups or private lessons with IKO or VDWS qualified instructors. For qualified kiters, minimum IKO level 3 standard, the full range of Carved and Core kit can be rented. There is a rescue boat on stand by if needed. There are downwind trips to Tobia Island available and a photographic service on request. A free shuttle bus is provided to take you to and from the hotel. Limited space available for those with their own equipment at an additional charge with onsite kite repair service (chargeable locally). (This is required to be booked in advance to guarantee availability.)

Latest equipment from Carved, Core, Deluxe and Best: Approx. 50 boards & 150 kites.
Training and Junior equipment, harness, life jackets and soft kites available from 2m². Recommended wetsuit thickness - none (summer season) to 5mm (winter season).
Rental
Flexible rental is available for board + kite, just board or just kite, by the day So you can chose to bring some of your equipment or rent everything you need before you arrive. Please contact us for daily rates.
“Rescue Service” One rescue is included if the rental includes a kite.

Level Required to Rent Equipment: you are required to have VDSW level 4 or IKO Level 3 license to rent equipement. If you are not able to product the license at check is required and new license to be issued (local cost €60.00).
Tuition
Kitesurfing Tuition: Beginner to Advanced.
The beach helpers and rescue team are on hand to quickly help out where necessary whether with your set up and launch, for repairs or if you need assistance on the water. A fast rib is on-hand to get out quickly.
Instruction is provided by experienced, professional teachers using video and headset training aids to ensure your quick progression, safely. Lessons are provided in groups of 2 to 4 students or as private lessons, on a one to one basis. Safety is paramount and clearly marked areas separate those startingout and for the more advanced.
