Simon has prepared the following information to help you decide...
Q. Will I know anyone?
A. The chances are extremely high of meeting fellow ‘wise’ windsurfers. But if you don’t know anyone, windsurfers a very welcoming bunch and you’ll have a great time for sure!
Q. Can I buy tickets for non-windsurfing partners or other windsurfing friends?
A. Yep, the more the merrier!
Q. What’s the dress code?
A. Shirts, dresses, kind of smart casual with a twist of style!
Q. Where is HISC exactly?
A. Check out Hayling Island Sailing Club – www.hisc.co.uk/hisc2.asp
Q. Can I book a table?
A. We generally have a sit anywhere policy, but if you have a group of 8-10 people, we can try to hold off some spaces for you.
Q. Is there a vegetarian option?
A. You can eat as many vegetarians as you like, but if you’d prefer a non-meat option, or you have food allergies, just let us know in advance.
Q. How do I book accommodation?
A. Call and book direct with Hayling Island Sailing Club - Tel: (44) 023 9246 3768
Q. Are there other options?
A. Google Hayling Hotels or B&B’s and you’ll find plenty of other local accommodation.
Q. Can I park my car with the gear on top?
A. The sailing club is down a private road, so it’s safe to leave gear overnight.
Q. Can I camp in the car park?
A. Not officially.
Q. Is there sailing & demo kit on Saturday?
A. We’ll have some fab Starboards and Tushy sails to try down at Hayling Seafront 11-4pm, but do bring your own gear too!
So head towards the Golf Club end of the sea front car park (this is just past where the Fat Face event used to be held).
Q. What’s the tide situation?
A. It’s high tide at approximately 4pm on Saturday, so we’ll have shallow water for most of the day and then maybe some waves?
Q. Can I change/shower at Hayling Island Sailing Club early evening?
A. Yes, after sailing you can head back to the east end of the island to Hayling Island Sailing Club (follow the signs to the lifeboat station). You can shower there and get all polished up for the evening.
Q. What is the best hangover cure?
A. Kode 96 with a 5m Storm!
