Sigri on the Greek Island of Lesvos sits in the easter Aegian just of the coast of Turkey. Direct flight from the UK provide excellent sailing conditions from May to October. Set on the west coast of Lesvos, this sleepy village is anything but when the Meltemi comes across from Turkey and really kicks in from June onwards. Sitting directly in the windzone, Sigri benefits from the accelerated Meltemi because of the position of the offshore island to the mainland. Winds get up to F6 most days with the wide Sigri Bay providing flat water and waves between 0.5 and 2.5m further out into the channel.
RRD centre Sigri Surf provide rental, instruction and excursions to the 4 other sailing spots all within 5km providing a choice of conditions one being compared to Pozo. The centre provides free mountain bikes and SUPs for those renting.
Sigri is a traditional village with half a dozen restaurants and a few bars. There is a choice of self catering apartments or small local hotel with pool. Accommodation starts at £449pp for 7 nights self catering including return flights and car hire.
