New Channel opens in Prasonisi
NEW CHANNEL IN PRASONISI Links flat water and wave area
For the first time since Autumn 2004, the sandbank off the completely unique sailing destination of Prasonisi has regained its channel; once again linking both on and offshore sailing areas. Heavy winter storms, broke through the sandbar to separate the island off Prasonisi from mainland Rhodes. The resulting natural channel offers new sailing challenges, in additional to the near constant and strong (20-30 knot) winds through the summer. The combination will provide testing conditions and give the flexibility to sail between the flat water and wave sailing areas on either side of the peninsular. Why not experience it first hand?
