Marsa Alam Resort Report
With direct flights to Marsa Alam in about 4 flight hours and after another 1 ½ h hours drive you are at Shams Alam Hotel where largest and best Club Mistral Centers is located.
The Hotel Shams Alam is directly at the spot with a total of 160 rooms which are in 2 storey buildings which are spread out over a huge area. The rooms are surrounded by spacious and well tended gardens. We recommend the rooms in the first floor with beautiful views over the bay. At the check in you will be asked if you are a windsurfer to make sure you get a room close to the center.

You can choose between half board or all inclusive but the difference is not much so it’s better to go for all inclusive where you have breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks included. There is not much around the hotel - so all you can buy is in the hotel. The all inclusive package includes non alcoholic and local alcoholic drinks. When you like Sakara in the bottle, fresh orange juice or espresso it is at an extra charge.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner is buffet-style and for lunch you can also go to the beach bar for sandwiches. At dinner the menu varies daily but there is always a pasta station in case there is nothing for your taste. The staff are very friendly and when you ask them nicely they also serve you with drinks at the table.

The Club Mistral Center is one of our biggest centers and you feel very comfortable there. Besides the latest windsurf equipment we have also SUP available in case of windless days. The center has a wide terrace from where you can watch the action on the water whilst chilling in the shade.

We were really lucky with the wind and we were sailing with 4.7 - 5.2 every day. The wind is cross off shore and very constant. The lagoon has got flat water which is perfect for beginners, and you can easily improve your gybes there. When you pass the wide channel through the reefs you come to a nice swell outside which can be up to 1.5m.
Please do not forget to explore the amazing underwater world at the reef – you will see all kinds of fish there. Snorkeling equipment is available at the diving center which also offers diving of courses which can be booked through Sportif's diving department.

.
One day we made an excursion with the quad into the desert which was really impressive. “Tiger” our quad guide is always in the lobby to make appointments for such excursions. You can start from the hotel and a 3 hour excursion is about Euro 40 per person.

About 15 walking minutes upwind you find another very nice five star Hotel called „Gorgonia Beach“. We recommend this hotel for all families and guests who are looking for a higher standard and excellent food. The kids club is open for kids from 4 years upwards and they have German and Italian speaking staff.

The hotel is set on a large and well-kept area and they the food is really delicious. Apart from that you will find a nice wellness/spa with fitness and gym. You can either walk or a take taxi to come to Club Mistral.

Marsa Alam in general is a very relaxed and chilled out place where you find peace and time for outdoor leisure. There is no nightlife or town nearby - only the beautiful nature.
