DAHAB FESTIVAL 2012
DAHAB FESTIVAL - Festival of Culture and Water Sports.
14-20 April 2012
Here is the latest news from the Dahab Festival Organisers:
The Festival will take place from April 14th – April 20th, over the course of the 7 days and 7 nights, everyone is invited to come and experience activities such as free diving, kite and windsurfing, as well as taster sessions of yoga and the “healing arts”.
Take this chance to discover the Bedouin culture in South Sinai, the Bedouin would like to invite you to discover their history, culture, and traditions. On the 16th of April, a Bedouin market selling hand made products, handicrafts, medicinal plants, traditional clothes and much more will be open from 8.am until the late night. Throughout the week, there will camel rides, rock climbing, canyon discovery, trips to St Katherine’s monastery and Mt Moses and many other excursions organised and guided by Bedouin.
Performances from both local and international bands are going to be playing at a number of live venues throughout the week. Every day there will be competitions and exhibitions; these will include an underwater photography competition, a buoyancy challenge and there will be home-made kite competitions from recycled materials.
2012 brings the entire community together again to make it an even bigger and better Festival! Long thought of as the quieter, less polished alternative to the likes of Sharm El Sheikh or Hurghada, the Dahab festival sets out to show the world just what it is missing out on.
