For your windsurfing holiday to Bonaire, the Sorobon Beach Resort sits on one of the most beautiful stretches of sand in Bonaire. The island of Bonaire is quiet and tranquil and the resort has a private beach with shaded cabannas and lounge chairs. The shallow bay is protected by a coral reef and is ideal for swimmers, snorkelers and windsurfers. The comfortable cottages offer splendid panoramic views of the bay’s colorful wildlife both above and below the sea. With windsurfng and wingfoiling onsite and wellness and yoga.


Location
Situated on the south east side of Bonaire, 10 minutes (6 miles) from the airport and 15 minutes (9 miles) from the main town, Karlendijk . The Sorobon Beach Resort is the only hotel situated directly at the lagoon at Lac Bay - the main windsurfing location in Bonaire, just a few minutes walk to the windsurf centres and launch spots. Kitesurfing is not allowed on the bay but there is a kitesurfers beach approximately 20 minutes drive away.


Accommodation
The resort is set in just over 3 acres of beautiful, lush gardens with a variety of plants rarely seen on the island. You can see all kinds of hummingbirds, sea birds and parrots. The Sorobon Beach Resort consists of 28 one bedroom chalets, which adjoin a second one bedroom chalet, each with own private terrace and entrace, 1 x two bedroom chalet and 1 x large house (the Cas Grandi) that accommodates up to 7 people. The accommodations are situated in two half circles and are not more than 150 feet (50 meters) away from the private beach. 

Each Chalet is approximately 60m² with living area, kitchenette Nespressor coffee machine, bedroom with 1 x double bed, air-conditioning in the bedroom and living area, bathroom with walk-in shower, dining area in the living room and on the terrace, patrio equipped chairs, outside shower, free Wi-Fi. There is daily housekeeping included and room service (with additional charge). Please not there are no televisions or music pods or speakers.

Standard Chalet - Known as 'Ocean View'   The Standard 1 bedroom chalet is located close to the ocean (50 – 100 mtrs). Each has a separate bedroom with queen size bed and ensuite bathroom with shower and WC, air-conditioning and mini fridge. Some have connecting doors.  The units are spacious enough to add a roll away bed. Maximum capacity is 4 people.

Superior Chalet - Known as 'Ocean Front'  The Standard 1 bedroom chalet is located close to the ocean (50 – 100 mtrs) with spectacular ocean view. Each has a separate bedroom with queen size bed and ensuite bathroom with shower and WC, air-conditioning and mini fridge. Some have connecting doors.  The units are spacious enough to add a roll away bed. Maximum capacity is 4 people.

Premium Ocean Front Chalet The premium chalet is located directly at the ocean with 180 degrees view.

Honeymoon Suite  The honeymoon suite is a one bedroom deluxe fully renovated chalet with a modern touch.

Ocean Front Chalet  Located very close to the ocean with best ocean views.

Family Chalet  The 2 bedroom family chalet offer 3 categories: Premium, Ocean front and Standard. Also Family Chalet Ocean

Cas Grandi  Built set back from the beach is a spacious authentic woorden chalet with a ground floor, first floor and studio, which can be rented separately or all together. The Cas Grandi has a top floor which can be reached by stairs with sitting living room, kitchen and spectacular, large balconies with sea and garden views. There are no elevators. However, in the living room, the sofa can act as bed as well. (Max 7 people).

Studio  The 3 studio's have nice views on the tropical garden offer a queen size bed and are suitable for one or two adults.


Facilities
The Sorobon Beach Resort offers daily breakfast (8-10am), lunch (12-4pm) and dinner on Thursdays to Saturday until 8pm with options for private beach dining with wine pairings.  Breakfast is served buffet style. Room service is available for an additional charge. The Reef Bar is open daily from 8am - 6pm (Sunday to Wednesdays) and util 9pm Thursday to Saturday for cold drinks, cocktails, lunch and take out menu for dinner daily.  Opening times may vary locally. A beach towel service is available plus laundy, iron and ironing board by request. Reception offers information on the island, tours and car hire.

Holistic, spa and massage therapies are available to book at the Resort including sports, deep tissue. There is also beach yoga, snorkelling, windsurfing, booking car or scooter rental. Local excursions include kayaking and stand up paddle boarding and there is golf, boat and catamaran trips, scuba diving, hiking trails, mountain biking a available around the island. Please note there is no kitesurfing permitted at Lac Bay.

The reception area and surroundings offer an atmospheric and cool place to enjoy a drink, read or log on. WiFi is available.


Windsurfing - Kitesurfing - Wing Foiling - SUP
The hotel is the ideal location for those who wish to spend time windsurfing, wing and wind foiling, stand up paddle boarding , which is all within a few minutes walk from the accommodation. Kitesurfing is a short 15-20 minute drive along the south coast road and scuba diving, snorkelling or kayaking can be booked with local operators. More >

Our Opinion
The only boutique beach hotel right on Lac Bay, it's an amazing location. We love the cool beach-chic vibe and highly recommend the beach front chalets (if available) and wellness weeks.
