Only 3 hours from the heart of Cairo, lies Ras Sudr.

Ras Sudr is known for its wide flat, turquoise water bay, the finest of sandy beaches and a 1km long coastal strip with no reefs or pebbles.

Although the local infrastructure is still relatively undeveloped, the windsurfing and kiting conditions are unique making the venue perfect for every level from novice, intermediate through to freeriders and freestyler.

Sailing Spot & Conditions

 The Club Mistral and Skyrider centres are located right at the edge of the beach on the windward side with a wide sandy strip separating the centre from the flat turquoise water. The long beach curves to windward from here, creating the bay that stretches further and further out  for over a kilometre, where it forms a sandbank that encloses a tidal lagoon.

 With no obstructions, the wind blows sideshore across the wide sandbank without any hindrance. This gives flatwater with a slight chop ensuring pure enjoyment for freeride and freestyle sailors.

The north to north-east wind blows cross shore gaining force during the morning, reaching its maximum by midday. So there's no need to hurry with breakfast. Towards the end of the afternoon, the wind generally dies down again. With a light breeze and flat water, the mornings offer ideal conditions for novices.

The perfect steady cross-shore wind with no turbulence, flat, turquoise water, 100m waist-high deep area, the finest of sandy beaches and a coastal strip with no reefs or pebbles most untypical of Egypt. Even dolphins are drawn to the beauty of this spot and can often be playful companions. 

Culture & Activities

Being so close to Cairo offers the perfect opportunity to make a day trip to see the famous Pyramids & Sphinx. There is also the possibility to visit Mount Sinai and St Catherine's monastery.  This area is still undeveloped so most social activities take place at the hotel with BBQs offered at the Club Mistral centre.
