Travelling north from Essaouira for twenty minutes is the astounding wave spot of Moulay Bouzerktoune. The Atlantic and North East Trade winds join forces to make conditions that will tax even the most experienced wave sailor. Here the wind is general 1-2 bft stronger than Essaouira. International contests take place here with top sailors often seen training.
Sidi Kaouki
Heading south for the same distance as Moulay, Sidi Kaouki is where 2 to 3 meter high waves break onto a 4.5 km long beach. The wind is cross shore from the right and generally 1-2 bft stronger than Moulay. This venue has no safety boat and is only for experienced wave sailors and sailing here is at your own peril.
