Sailing Spot & Conditions
The beach at Ialyssos faces a large open bay, shallow for the first 20m, with the clean Meltemi wind blowing cross onshore form the left. This produces a moderate shorebreak but once launched it is possible to blast across the bay at speed. Outside the bay, the swell forms superb jumping ramps. The wind here is typically a gentle force 2 to 3 in the morning, more suited to the less experienced. More gusty afternoons with 1.5m chop on the outside and often Force 5 and above in July and August.
