Hurghada is the original Red Sea Resort. The city is characterised by cool breezes and sunny weather making it a pleasant location year round. Once just a simple fishing village, it has since developed into a bustling resort offering a range of excellent facilities, yet retaining its original charm and the traditional Egyptian way of life.  Whilst the beaches continue to see an increasing number of western style hotels, there is nothing to compete with the location of the Jasmine Village, Aladdin Beach, Magawish and Sofitel hotels which have the pick of the best spots along the huge sandy bay.

 Sailing Spot & Conditions

Hurghada is spread out over 30 kilometers and the variety of launch spots make this an excellent location for all levels.  A shallow lagoon offers a safe area with no drifting to make the first steps. More experienced windsurfers can start from the beach where the wind blows side onshore from the left with access to a large shallow area that is ideal to practice waterstart, gybes and other manoeuvers. This is a dream spot for freestylers. On high wind days you can find moderate 1m waves out to sea. The kitesurfing beach extends to 1.2km with large dedicated shallow areas for beginners and training, separate launch areas for the experts and the now famous sand bar located only 300 meters off shore.

Culture & Activities

Hurghada is a busy resort and offers a great range of activities and entertainment.   Our windsurf and kitesurf centres offers a range of additional activities including volleyball, wakeboarding and quad bike safaris in the desert, go-carting and trips to the Titanic Aqua Park. The best of Egyptian cultural excursions – Luxor and the Valley of the Kings are offered as a day trip.

In the evening you will find a good number of restaurants, bars and nightclubs as well as a great beach scene with beach BBQs and evening entertainment.  Hurghada is an established red sea diving location with a choice of courses, dive packages and access to over 37 dive sites.
