Location
We’ve been to Mauritius since 2007 and it’s a real gem! Easy launching, cross-shore left to right winds and warm water, plus some truly fabulous waves to suit every level.

The Wind & Waves
You can never, ever, guarantee wind AND waves. But in October your chances of wind are pretty good, plus a high chance of swell. Hence the popularity of this winter location. When the trades are in you’d expect to be on sail between 4.5-5.5m. It blows left to right across the beach (port tack). Often we’re venturing out on wave boards and with waves from one foot to the famous (out of bounds) often over mast high, One Eye! In previous years we took a veteran sailor into the waves for the first time and they loved it! Equally if you’re experienced in waves, you’ll think you’re in paradise (which you are).
