Samos Windsurf & Bike Centre - Samos - Kokkari, Greece & Mediterranean

The Sportif windsurfing centre in Samos, Greece is in Kokkari Bay with a shallow area 100m upwind. The centre is stocked with the full range of Tabou boards & Gaastra sails and offers courses for beginners to advanced sailors.

Location
The centre is located in Kokkari bay, which is 2km wide. 100m upwind there is a flat shallow area. The wind is clean, cross on-shore and with lighter winds in the morning and building into the afternoon; it’s a great area for children, beginners, intermediates and advanced sailors alike.

Facilities
The centre has shower facilities, a bar, sun beds, internet and a weekly BBQ. Families are particularly welcome at the centre with child friendly facilities including a playground with swings, slide, children's house, a trampoline and beach toys. Children over 10 can enjoy Junior windsurfing lessons with their very own instructor. The centre offers full rental and instruction services with a wide choice of the latest Fanatic boards and Gaastra sails. A pool system is available allowing you to try any equipment at any time. Beginner and advanced beginner lessons will be held in a sheltered flat water bay and the intermediate and advanced lessons will be held in the open sea. All lessons include theory and practical. There is a rescue boat on standby if needed. Space is available for those with their own equipment at an additional charge. (This is required to be booked in advance to guarantee availability.)

Bike Centre
The centre also offers Mountain Bike hire with the choice of 16 TREK and GIANT bikes suitable for on road and off road riding. The area around Kokkari is mountainous and offers wonderful routes. Other activities available include SUP, 4 person sea cycles, snorkelling, 2 person canoes, table tennis and beach tennis. Also, newly built in 2011, the professional 16m x 8m volleyball courts with sandy base are enjoyed by local teams and holiday makers alike and doubles as a 5-a-side football pitch. Sea bike, Kayak, Snorkel, SUP and Mountain Bike equipment are all available to hire from the centre at additional costs.
